Is there anyway to use serial ports above COM16?

We have the following work around to use COMM Ports higher than 16:

1) Download the following file:
http://www.intellisoftwa...SMS_AT_SetCommsPorts.zip

2) Extract the ActiveSMS_AT_SetCommsPorts.reg

3) Edit ActiveSMS_AT_SetCommsPorts.reg to the COM ports required

3) Double-click on the ActiveSMS_AT_SetCommsPorts.reg and click Yes

5) Restart the server for changes to take effect

Please note that you will not be able to use the ActiveSMS Console to configure the transport once this change is made.

If the COM port values are so high because of various devices that have been attached at some point and thus allocated a COM port but are no longer in use, you can forcefully remove the unused COM ports, freeing them up for re-allocation.

I had this problem when I plugged in a couple of different mobiles over USB and bluetooth, and had accumulated allocation of COM ports over the years from other devices, most of which were no longer in use. I got up to something silly like COM 24.
