Subscription Lists

Web SMS - Subscription Lists

Subscription Lists is a feature built into the IntelliSoftware platform that allows you to build and manage a list of subscribers. With Subscriptions Lists you can send a messages to all your subscriber in a single operations.

Features Provided by Subscription List:

  • Automatic List Building - Subscribers can be added or removed from the subscription list automatically when an event happens (e.g. opt-in when user send a message to your keyword, opt-out when user send STOP to 86688)
  • Send Messages to your Subscribers - You can send messages to your subscribers at anytime just by selecting your Subscription List when sending a message
  • Multiple Subscription List Support - You can create multiple Subscription List which can be updated by different events
  • Online Management - Subscription List are managed via WebSMS portal
  • Export / Import - Subscriptions list can by imported or exported at any time

Creating a Subscription List:

Subscription Lists are managed within the WebSMS portal.

To create a Subscription List:

  • Login to your account
  • Click on Automation->Lists
  • Click on 'New Subscription List' to create a new Subscription List
  • Enter a name for the list
  • By default a number will be automatically unsubscribed when a platform-level unsubscribe event occurs (e.g. STOP sent to 86688), if you do not want this then set 'Platform Auto-Unsubscribe' to No.
  • Click 'Save Changes'


Automatically building subscriptions:

The IntelliSMS Platform is able to automatically add subscribers to your list when particular events occur (e.g. message sent to your keyword or virtual number).

This functionality is managed through rules, a new rule can be created as follows:

  • Login into your WebSMS account
  • Click on Automation->Rules
  • Click on 'New Rule'
  • Enter Rule Name (e.g. 'Subscribe Number')
  • For 'Run Rule When' select 'Message Received'
  • For 'On' select your shortcode keyword or virtual number
  • For 'Then' select 'Update Subscription List'
  • For 'Subscription' select the subscription list to be updated
  • For 'Action' select 'Opt-In Number'
  • Click 'Save Changes'

Tip: You can also create a rule that is trigger on a delivery report. For example, create a rule to remove a subscription if you get a Delivery Failure, this can be used cleanse you list of number no longer in use.
